Roll Alignment set-up using benchmarks

Align the laser to the reference roll or benchmark's (monuments). If the reference roll is being used, reference targets are set up at opposite ends of the machine and zeroed to create a datum to the reference roll. Remember that the Hamar Laser’s scan planes are perpendicular to each other (square) so that the laser plane that is perpendicular to the reference roll is square. The laser can now be moved along any point between the reference targets and reflect a square plane with relationship to the reference roll with .0001" accuracy.
