Training: The people need not only the classroom training but the application experience as well. Experience is not going to be achieved overnight. The benefits will greatly out weigh the time and initial investment.
Machine availability: Machinery must be made available if it is to be correctly aligned and the people are to gain the experience.
Experience is the best teacher.
Time to do the job right, so the full benefit can be realized. Remember the closer the alignment needs to be the longer it will take.
Documentation: Before and after results so the ROI can be realized.
Planning: This could very well be the key to your success.
Inexpensive adapters: To hold the laser and target. Many of these can be interchanged on multiple operations.
Masters: To perform an alignment correctly and accurately a master part is required. We recommend that an existing part not be used. The master does not necessarily need to be made from gage quality cast iron or steel, but have the ability to gage where the actual hole is at in the master so the alignment offsets can be used. This enables the user to make weldments in their own shop or the shop of their choice. This typically can reduce the price of a master part greatly.
