  • A light-emitting device that at the present time produces the straightest line known to man.
  • A straight line that with the use of optics is a very useful tool.
  • A tool that has been designed for the alignment of machinery. It can be used in nearly any area of concern that you would use a dial indicator.
  • A tool that in most instances is easier to use than a dial indicator mainly because there is less fixturing to achieve the same type of readings.
  • A tool that gives the user a better perception of machine geometry and how the machine works.
  • A tool that uses a target that is capable of measuring the angle and center of the laser beam simultaneously.
  • A tool that has beam stability up to 100 feet, with an angular accuracy of .0001" per foot and center misalignment of .0001 per inch. The new generation of high-resolution interfaces are actually producing .00002" resolution.
